Drawing from the idea of internal systems becoming external.
This collection explores mutation through the relationship between anatomy and mechanical structure, using clothing to reshape and extend the body. Sculptural silhouettes, layered construction, and experimental forms create tension between control and transformation.
Look 1: Developed through engineered patternmaking and layered panel construction with industrial sandblasted surface treatment. Sculptural seam placement, dimensional panel integration, and controlled volume enhance the garment's structural form and textile depth.
Look 2: Constructed using engineered patternmaking, precision piping application, and layered mesh integration. The stretch properties of the mesh and denim, combined with cording insertion, required extensive hand sewing to maintain seam accuracy, eliminate puckering, and achieve a controlled, flat application throughout the garment.
Look 3: This two-piece look was developed through engineered patternmaking and layered construction. The top was assembled from individually cut, hand-painted panels that were aligned during construction to create a continuous surface across each seam. The pants feature layered paneling patterned to follow the body's natural movement, creating fluidity and dimension throughout the silhouette.
Look 4: This look was developed through engineered patternmaking, extensive internal boning, and sculptural construction. The corset and skirt were heavily boned to create a rigid, contoured silhouette, while pre-pleated fabric was incorporated to add controlled volume and reinforce the garment's architectural form. Precision construction and finishing ensured the structure remained stable while maintaining clean lines throughout the silhouette.
